To everyone who’s studying with this music:

    Checklist:

    • A bottle of water, at least 1liter. Your brain works better if it has enough water and drinking helps you to concentrate?

    • Your charger. You sometimes don’t even notice that your device’s battery is going down, so better have it plugged in all the time?

    • Your headphones. You will be able to focus more with headphones, because it blocks background noises. Also, if it’s a late night study session, you won’t wake up anyone?

    • a tea or coffee. Coffee keeps you awake, green or black tea can make you feel more awake as well.☕

    • Your study/work stuff: your laptop/tablet/phone , a few pens, paper or whatever you need.⌨️

•Anything else you could need, what about a heat pad, a blanket, a good lamp, your pet so you have a study buddy ?

Reminder:After an hour, you should stand up and walk a bit around. Better stop the music or put on different music for the break. Open your window, even if it’s cold outside. Fresh air will make it better, trust me.
You could also lay your head down on your desk for ten minutes and listen to a podcast. Or, if you have to read a book, listen to the audiobook of it. You can also listen to the audiobook while doing another thing, that’s even better than listening to music while reading the book.

I hope y’all had a good day, if not, that’s okay too. Remember to take care of yourself and try to get some sleep tonight ??

(This comment isn’t originally mine, but I think it can help a lot of people :))

We had music nights at the mental hospital and I always chose classical music but everyone would laugh and skip it and the nurses wouldn’t let me listen to music for the 4 months I was there 🙁

    Little story:

Everyone is already asleep as you creep down the polished floors of the academy halls. They are lined with the paintings of past successors that previously studied at this prestigious school. You can just feel their judgmental stare drilling into the back of your head, following you as you pass. “I know, I know.” You mutter under your breath to them. “That’s why I’m awake at this ungodly hour.” You finally reach the library of the academy, your favorite place in the entire school, which is ironic because you spend most of your time studying there for numerous tests and it is one of your least favorite things to do. But it can bring a little comfort to your strained mind if you have these study sessions at midnight, when the library is calm and isolate and silent, with only the sound of your quill scratching the paper. You have an exam tomorrow and you feel your grades slowly beginning to slip down and the feeling that it will crash and break if you fail this exam. It’s on astronomy and the many meanings of the stars and constellations. It would be a subject you would actually enjoy, if not for the amount of homework and exams. You enter the library and feel at peace. You allow yourself to relax and be yourself, contrary to how you usually present yourself to your peers during the day. The last thing you’re going to do is show them the real you. You just- have never fit in at this school, full of rich preppy girls and snobbish boys, all waiting for the day they will have power, studying so they can have power, while you have power so you can study. There are perks to being one child of many with rich parents. They only focus on your eldest sibling all the time, to be successful, to inherit everything, and avenge your family name. That leaves you to do as you want while using your parent’s… advantages when it comes to wealth- to satisfy your thirst for knowledge and try to be the best you can be.
You take out your books and quills, setting them neatly on the table, and allow yourself to relax and be free as you slowly glide through the many passageways and rows of bookshelves. You pick a worn book off from the shelf and keep walking as you recite the poem on the first page. You keep walking, reading out loud to yourself, and getting lost in the academy’s huge library. This is when you are happiest. This is when you are you.
As you return to the rosewood table in the middle of the library, you hear a noise. You stop, mid-sentence, mouth still slightly open as you peer around you. “Odd.” You mumble to yourself.
“Really? I thought I was charming but odd? That’s new for me, I must say.”
You whip around to find a boy, most likely a student, resting his back against the edge of a bookshelf, open book in his left hand, right hand in his pant pocket. Your face flushes with embarrassment. “H-How long have you been here?” He snaps the book shut, a grin slowly appearing on his face. “Long enough.” You stare at him, indignant, annoyed, and embarrassed. Though you’re not in the mood for making conversation, you want to keep what’s left of your dignity and continue unfazed, as if it’s perfectly normal to be caught reciting poems as you walk around aimlessly in your nightgown and robe. “Aren’t you supposed to be in bed?” You say. “I could be asking you the same.” He replies. You huff. “Well, I asked you first.” He keeps grinning as he suddenly inspects some dust on his pajama pants “Right, well, let’s just say I’m out for a midnight stroll.” “Funny.” You sit down at the table, prepared to ignore this snoopy individual who ruined your bliss, and at this strange hour no less. You scan through the pages in your book and only realize he has come to peer over your shoulder when he says, right next to your ear, “The meaning behind the stars? Interesting. Nice set up for having an existential crisis.” In spite of yourself, you reluctantly ask, “Why?” He walks around the table and sits across from you as he talks. “I mean, if we are made from the dust, or makings of a star, then isn’t that the same as trying to find the meaning of ourselves? Of our point of existing. Of being. That’s an existential crisis if I ever saw one.” You think about it and can’t help but smile the tiniest bit. It feels strange to feel a little comfortable in your own skin, talking with this person freely, without care of watching how you act or what you say. You look up again to find him smiling at you and he looks away, a tad embarrassed. Now we’re even, you think to yourself with a laugh. It seems like time has no meaning as you both sit there in the huge library, every little sound echoing. You feel yourself slowly start to let yourself trust this boy, and you have no idea why. You just sit there in comfortable silence with feelings you don’t really understand. You look up to find him staring at you again. His face is rid of the goofiness he carried before, and it is now filled with longing. He says, “I told the stars about you, you know.”
It’s as if you are stripped of the walls and barriers you created over the years to block out the people around you. It’s as if in a trance, you reply:
    “…What did they say?”

    “…That you were my meaning.”

    1. Dumble dort (ne le réveillez guère)

@sAvA BiRd In the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire book, it is said that Viktor Krum showed his interest to Hermione in the library, he was very shy and clumsy to ask her to the Yule Ball opposite to what he may look like (full of determination and confidence), so this could be how he and Hermione met for the first time 🙂

    2. Dumble dort (ne le réveillez guère)

You manipulate the English language in such a magnificient, poetic way, just like you would play an instrument. Thank you so much for your time! That’s a very creative quill you got there (I don’t know if this is an expression in English, but ”plume” (quill) in French also means ”style of writing”)

omg I thought I was the only person that felt this way…Claire de lune is literally a masterpiece from heaven. It is the most beautiful and resonating piece I’ve ever had the honour of hearing.

My life is actually such an aesthetic I live in Ireland with a really pretty view and it’s currently raining while I listen to this and it looks so nice out. I have a cup of black coffee and I’m reading my favorite book

Update: about 3 weeks ago me and my friend were coming home from a party and theese guys were walking in front of us and we heard them speaking spanish.

The friend I was with is spanish but had amazing english as she had lived here four years but somehow we ended up talking to them and they ended up coming out with us.

Every weekend since we have gone out together and it gets less and less awkard and today the four of us had a game of

To whoever sees this, I have a recommendation for you! You will need:
    * A good book ( I prefer “The girl who drank the moon” by Kelly Barnhill, but the choice is yours)
    * A fuzzy blanket
    * Hot tea. If you want to wake up with this playlist use black or green tea, but if you would like to help if relax you and put you to sleep I suggest lemon, ginger or peppermint. Or whatever you favorite tea is!
    * A reading light, so you can only see your computer screen and you book pages (a lamp of natural light will suffice, but i reading light is more fun)
    * A dark room
    * A cool cup (recommended but not needed, I just like cups)
    And you’re done! Happy Readings!

If only there’s a small door that’ll appear in the middle of the night in your room leading to a library that gives off a medieval ambiance. Oh, to get stuck inside it would be my dream. Endless books to read, how wonderful it really is.

haven’t seen any pov’s or short calming stories in these comments so ill make one real quick.

    POV:

It was past midnight as I sat in the library studying for my finals. I generally appreciate this inclination; being separated from everyone else in a peaceful, quieting climate. Pages of my notes were dissipated wherever as I held my pen in my right hand and addressed some review questions. I could feel the warmness of the spot despite the fact that it was intensely pouring down outside. The sound of rain droplets hitting the rooftop hid my existence from getting captured by some guard at an hour like this. It feels as if no other soul exists in this universe with me. It feels safe. This is the best feeling one will ever experience…

First time studying to this type of music, and I feel a whole different kind of motivation. How have I not done this before? It’s amazing and I feel like I’m actually enjoying studying, which I never thought I’d hear myself say. Thank you!

@Amy W. this isn’t a case of ‘not like other girls’, a lot of people – and this is the case very often – genuinely don’t want to listen to classical music when they are in a mood for pop/rock/indie/jazz/etc music, while the people in this comments section love classics regardless of the mood
